Summary
Ye Chen is a billionaire worth trillions who, for three years, lived as a son-in-law who married into his wife’s family—a position traditionally looked down upon in Chinese culture. During this time, he concealed his true wealth and identity, enduring constant humiliation and mistreatment from his wife and mother-in-law. When his wife betrays him, Ye Chen is kicked out of the house and the couple divorces. However, once they discover his true identity as an enormously wealthy and powerful figure, the attitudes of his ex-wife and former mother-in-law undergo a complete reversal. His ex-wife desperately begs for another chance at their marriage, while the mother-in-law—who once treated him with utter contempt—now humbles herself, willing to wash clothes and cook meals if only he would return to the family.
